Press release on the opening of the Erbil International Book Fair 2024

In the Kurdistan Region on the grounds of international fairs in Erbil – Kurdish leader Massoud Barzani, in the presence of political, cultural, diplomatic and government figures, inaugurated the 16th Erbil International Book Fair under the slogan "Read... Your intelligence is not artificial", which will be held from April 17 to 27 of this month, in cooperation between Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts and the Ministry of Culture and Youth.
The exhibition management offers discounts on the purchase of books of up to more than 50%, in order to encourage citizens to read and read, and it will also offer discounts on transportation to facilitate access to the exhibition, whether within the city of Erbil, or for those coming from other cities and governorates, in cooperation with well-known transport companies.
Organization and preparation:
The opening activities witnessed efforts made by the organizing committee of the exhibition, which worked hard to achieve this prominent cultural event, as the launch of the exhibition activities was preceded by great preparations made by Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, in order to show this cultural event in proportion to its status in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

The Publishers` Association presents you with its best regards,
   With reference to the holding of the 55th Cairo International Book Fair from January 24 to February 6, 2024, the Arab Publishers Union announces the opening of nominations for the "Best Arab Publisher" award in its third session within the awards granted by the Cairo International Book Fair from December 1 to 31, 2023, in cooperation between the Arab Publishers` Association and the Egyptian General Book Organization according to the following conditions:
1. That the member applying for the award be registered in the records of the Arab Publishers` Association and have paid their financial obligations until the end of 2023.
2. The member must be a private publisher and not an institution, organization or Official body.
3. The applicant should be a participant in the 54th session of the Cairo International Book Fair.
4. Commitment and respect for intellectual property laws.
5. The member should not have been subjected to any punishment from his local Association or the Arab Publishers` Association during his membership period.
6. The forms of publications submitted for the award must bear the legal deposit and the international numbering.
7. The member should submit a list of his publications during the last five years.

Press release on the Arab Publisher Award 2023

On the sidelines of the Kuwait International Book Fair, it was announced that Dar Kayan for Publishing and Distribution - Egypt won the Arab Publisher Award "Dr. Abdulaziz Mansour Award" in its fifth session in the field of novel for the young author for the year 2023 under the auspices of the Arab Publishers` Association for the novel "The Land of Crows", written by Ahmed Essam El-Din, and the honoring was held on Wednesday, November 23, 2023 AD at the St. Regis Hotel, and the celebration was held under the patronage of the Minister of Information, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Chairman of the National Council for Culture and Arts Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, and was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar That Al-Salasil and the founder of the award, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mansour, the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jassar, the President of the Arab Publishers` Association, Mr. Mohammed Rashad, and a large group of intellectuals and the media.
At the beginning of the celebration, a minute of mourning was held for the souls of the martyrs of the Palestinian people, and this year's celebration was canceled and the event was limited to honoring to announce the winner due to the exceptional circumstances the region is going through. Dr. Al-Mansour asked that next year be devoted to Palestine.
