On the sidelines of the Kuwait International Book Fair, it was announced that Dar Kayan for Publishing and Distribution - Egypt won the Arab Publisher Award "Dr. Abdulaziz Mansour Award" in its fifth session in the field of novel for the young author for the year 2023 under the auspices of the Arab Publishers` Association for the novel "The Land of Crows", written by Ahmed Essam El-Din, and the honoring was held on Wednesday, November 23, 2023 AD at the St. Regis Hotel, and the celebration was held under the patronage of the Minister of Information, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Chairman of the National Council for Culture and Arts Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, and was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar That Al-Salasil and the founder of the award, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mansour, the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jassar, the President of the Arab Publishers` Association, Mr. Mohammed Rashad, and a large group of intellectuals and the media.
At the beginning of the celebration, a minute of mourning was held for the souls of the martyrs of the Palestinian people, and this year's celebration was canceled and the event was limited to honoring to announce the winner due to the exceptional circumstances the region is going through. Dr. Al-Mansour asked that next year be devoted to Palestine.

The Chairman of the Jury, Dr. Abbas Abdel Halim Abbas, delivered the speech of the committee and said that the award is the first that turned to the efforts of the Arab publisher, this unknown soldier, who has been working to spread knowledge and the types of culture and forms of creativity produced by the Qur'an and minds. Allow me to salute the State of Kuwait (leadership, people and government) for their original and noble positions in supporting the steadfastness of the resistance, and bravely standing on the side of the Palestinian right and rejecting the hateful occupation.
Dr. Abdel Halim continued, "As for this award in its current session, it was under the title (Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Mansour Award for the Arab Publisher of Youth Novel) in which a large number of Arab publishing houses from all over the Arab world participated, and a jury with excellent literary and critical experience was formed, namely Prof. Dr. Latif Zitouni from Lebanon, and Prof. Dr. Haitham Hajj Ali from Egypt, and I had the honor of chairing this committee, to which I extend my thanks and great appreciation for its appreciated efforts. and its high transparency and commitment to the specified time schedule", and thanked the Board of Trustees, Mr. Mohammed Rashad, Chairman, Mr. Haitham Hafez and Mr. Saleh Al-Ghazi.
The President of the Arab Publishers` Association, Mr. Mohammed Rashad, also delivered his speech that Kuwait is still on its approach since the sixties in culture and presentation of Arab culture with its works, and commented, "All of us as Arab publishers are happy with this award, the main sponsor, who presented it to the Arab publisher, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mansour, and I congratulate the owner of Dar Kayan Mohammed Jameel for his deserved victory for this award", indicating that he follows the activity of Dar Kayan and that it was able as a house to take great steps, and to have a fingerprint In this field, he recalled that Dar Kayan won the Best Publisher Award at the Cairo Exhibition.
For his part, the owner of Kayan Publishing and Distribution House, Mohammed Jameel, expressed his happiness with the win, and thanked Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mansour and the Arab Publishers` Association, and also expressed his happiness to be present during the Kuwait International Book Fair, and about the novel, Karim says that it is of a fantasy nature.
Mr. Haitham Hafez, member of the Board of Trustees of the Award and President of the Syrian Publishers Association, added that it has been five years since the establishment of the Abdul Aziz Al-Mansour Award, which was established with the approval of the Board of Directors of the Arab Publishers` Association and is growing and rising due to the blessing of Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Mansour for this award, and this award is the first in the Arab world specialized and aims to develop the Arab publisher, and today we celebrate this award because of its orientation towards the Arab publisher, and we fully believe in the importance of this award, And the importance of developing the publishing industry in the Arab world, which has reserved a place among the major Arab awards, and we, as Arab publishers, are proud of this award, adding that this year the award was directed and allocated to the young novelist, and its intention is to develop the young writer and at the same time we direct publishers to go to young readers, stressing that this gave a greater goal towards the development of the publishing industry by heading towards the quality of content so that the Arab reader has an increase in books with valuable content, which is the highest thing you aspire to this Award.
