Third session

On the sidelines of the Book Fair in Sharjah this evening, Thursday, the Arab Publishers` Association announced the shortlist for the Kuwaiti Publisher Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mansour Award for the support of publishers in its third session 2021 for short stories.
Haitham Al-Hafiz, the head of the Professional Work Development Committee, stressed in a press conference on the occasion the importance of this award at the Arab level, congratulating the authors of stories and publishing houses that were shortlisted.
Al-Hafiz expressed his thanks to Dr. Al-Mansour, praising the role of the President of Association, Mohammed Rashad, the Secretary-General, Bashar Chebaro, the members of the Board of Directors and the Arbitration Committee.
He said that the short list included from Egypt (Mahi Publishing and Distribution) for the group (The Man in the Black Coat) by Abed Khattab, Dar (Al-Ain) for (Pisces Tower) by Jalila Al-Qadi, and Dar (Al-Farouq for Cultural Investments) for (Twelve Nights) by Abboud Mustafa, from Libya, Dar (Pioneers) on (Woman on the Edge of the World) by Azza Makhour, and from Iraq (Abjad Institution for Translation, Publishing and Distribution) on the group (Tayr al-Wahsha) by Hamid Mukhtar.
For his part, the President of the Association, Mohammed Rashad, considered to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) ten, "This award, despite its relative recentness, and despite the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on the Arab publisher, was able to present a living model of solidarity and fraternity among Arab publishers.

For his part, the head of the jury, Dr. Ehab Al-Najdi, stressed in a similar statement to (KUNA) the importance of the idea and objectives of this noble award, considering that it enriches cultural life with great appreciation and honor for the Arab publishing movement, its role and its prestigious institutions, which contributes to the advancement of industry, culture and the recipient.
Al-Najdi stressed that this session came to keep pace with the apparent transformations in the world of publishing and books, as book fairs return after a pandemic that covered almost the whole world, and coexistence between electronic and paper has returned. hundred".
He added, "The session was also an example of coexistence in terms of participation and arbitration." The arbitration took place through computerized participations or in the (PDF) format, to return with the announcement of the short list to paper copies for examination, liquidation and voting.
